Quick answer

For a first Ibiza club night, Pacha in Ibiza town is the safe choice: open since 1973, walkable from the harbour and the marina, a mixed crowd and house music, with indicative door prices from EUR 40 to 80 depending on the night. For the biggest production, Ushuaia (open air, until midnight) and Hi Ibiza (until sunrise) sit opposite each other in Playa d'en Bossa. For the underground, DC-10 by the airport on Mondays.

TL;DR

  • Three club zones: Ibiza town (Pacha), Playa d'en Bossa (Ushuaia, Hi Ibiza, DC-10 nearby) and San Rafael (Amnesia, UNVR)
  • Indicative tickets EUR 40 to 100, cheaper online and early in the season, drinks from EUR 15 to 20
  • Ushuaia runs from late afternoon to midnight, the rest from midnight to 06:00 or 07:00
  • Season openings in late April and May, closings in late September and October
  • Disco bus, taxis and pre booked transfers move people between the zones at night

Ibiza town: Pacha

Pacha has been on the same spot beside the marina since 1973, and it is the only superclub you can walk to from a hotel in town. The crowd is the widest, the music is house, and the terrace at dawn is the reason regulars still go. If you stay in Ibiza town or Talamanca, this is your night without transport.

Playa d'en Bossa: Ushuaia, Hi Ibiza and DC-10

Ushuaia is an hotel whose pool becomes an open air stage: the show starts late afternoon and finishes at midnight, which makes it the only club you can do and still sleep. Hi Ibiza, across the road on the site of the old Space, takes over from midnight. DC-10 sits a few minutes away at the end of the airport runway, a warehouse with no decoration and the most devoted crowd on the island, famous for Circoloco on Mondays. Staying in Playa d'en Bossa puts all three within a short taxi.

San Rafael: Amnesia and UNVR

Halfway along the road from Ibiza town to Sant Antoni, in the countryside, two giants share a village. Amnesia is the two room club of the foam parties and the sunrise through the glass roof. Next to it, the former Privilege, once listed as the largest club in the world, has been relaunched as UNVR. Neither is walkable from anywhere: the disco bus, a taxi or a booked transfer is the plan.

Getting there and back

The disco bus runs summer nights between Ibiza town, Playa d'en Bossa, San Rafael and Sant Antoni. Taxis exist but the queue at 06:00 outside Amnesia is long. Groups usually book a driver for the night or take a villa near the zone they will use most. If you want the club and the sea in one day, the sunset boat parties from Sant Antoni and Ibiza town end with entry to a club.

When

Opening parties start in late April and May, the calendar is full from June to September and the closing parties run through late September into October. Outside that window most of the six are shut and the night moves to the bars of Ibiza town and Sant Antoni.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to get into Ibiza clubs?

Indicatively EUR 40 to 100 per person, cheaper online and on quieter nights, more at the door and for the big headliners in August. Drinks are extra at around EUR 15 to 20 for a mixed drink. VIP tables start in the hundreds and go far beyond.

When is the best time for clubbing in Ibiza?

July and August have every club open every night and the biggest names. June and September have the same clubs, shorter queues and lower prices. Opening parties in May and closings in October are events in themselves, but between them some nights are dark.

How long is a night out in Ibiza?

Clubs open around midnight and run until 06:00 or 07:00, so a full night is six hours on the floor. Ushuaia is the exception: it runs from late afternoon to midnight, which many people combine with a second club afterwards.

How do you get from Ibiza town to Amnesia?

About 15 minutes by taxi or booked transfer, or the disco bus on summer nights. There is no walking route and no regular bus at club hours. Book the return in advance if you can, because the taxi queue at closing is the worst part of the night.

Are Ibiza clubs worth the price?

For anyone who follows electronic music, yes: the sound systems, the production and the DJs are the best in Europe on the same night. If you would rather a bar and a view, the sunset strip in Sant Antoni and the terraces of Ibiza town give the island's night for the price of a drink.

What is included in a club ticket?

Entry only, usually for one club and one night. Drinks, tables, transport and cloakroom are extra. Some tickets include a first drink, and the boat party packages include the boat, some drinks and the club entry afterwards.

Which club is best for a first time?

Pacha for a mixed crowd and an easy location in town. Ushuaia if you want the show and to sleep before 01:00. Hi Ibiza for the full production. Amnesia and DC-10 once you know you like techno and a long night.
