Playa d'en Bossa
The long beach south of Ibiza town is where the beach club and the nightclub merge. Ushuaia is a hotel with an open air stage that runs its show from late afternoon to midnight, and along the sand Nassau Beach Club and Bora Bora carry the day. Expect music from lunch, a young crowd and the easiest access on the island: 10 minutes from town or the airport.
Cala Jondal
A pebble and sand cove on the south coast where the yachts anchor and Blue Marlin Ibiza sets the tone: DJ sets, a long lunch and a bed that is booked days ahead in August. Tropicana next door is quieter and more about the food. Parking is limited and the road down is narrow, which is why most regulars arrive by boat and go ashore by tender.
Cala Bassa and Cala Comte
The west coast bays have the clearest water on the island and the most relaxed clubs. CBbC in Cala Bassa is a full service club on a family beach with a bus and boats from Sant Antoni. Sunset Ashram sits on the rocks above Cala Comte and fills at 19:00 for the sunset. Both beaches have public sand next to the beds if you would rather bring a towel.
Es Cavallet and Ses Salines
South of the airport, past the salt flats, two long beaches inside a natural park. El Chiringuito on Es Cavallet is the barefoot classic, and the shacks along Ses Salines mix beds and simple lunches. The road in is slow in August and the car parks charge, so go early or by boat.
Formentera
Illetes is the postcard beach, and its clubs are restaurants with beds: Beso Beach, Juan y Andrea and Es Moli de Sal. Most day boats from Ibiza anchor here and land guests by tender. If you come by ferry, La Savina to Illetes is 10 minutes by taxi or bike, and the natural park charges cars to enter in summer.

When is the best time for a beach club in Ibiza?

How do you get to Cala Jondal from Ibiza town?
By car it is about 25 minutes, but the cove has little parking and it fills before midday in summer. By taxi it is the same time and you avoid the parking. By boat it is about 45 minutes along the south coast and the club tender brings you ashore, which is how most guests arrive.
Are Ibiza beach clubs worth it?
Yes if the day is the point: a bed, a long lunch, music and a swim between courses. Not if you only want the beach, because every club sits on or next to public sand where a towel costs nothing and the water is the same.
