The target is WCAG 2.1 at level AA. We are not there on every page, and saying where we fall short is more use to you than a claim nobody has audited.
What is in place
- The content is in the HTML and reads with JavaScript switched off. The menu opens without a script.
- Motion follows the reduced motion setting of your system. With it on, nothing pulses or slides.
- Headings run in order, and every page except the home carries a breadcrumb above the title.
- No native browser dialogue is used anywhere, so nothing steals focus without warning.
- Every photo has a text alternative, and its author is credited on the image credits page.
- The WhatsApp button is a plain link: it works with a keyboard and with a screen reader.
What falls short today
- Photos come from a public archive and their descriptions are ours, written from the file name and the place. Some are shorter than they should be.
- Small uppercase labels (section names, dates) sit near the contrast limit on the cream background. We have not audited every one.
- Tables scroll sideways on a narrow screen instead of reflowing.
